Day 3: Stillness isn’t another thing to conquer

Here are some things I vowed to do during this time:
— Exercise every day because I can’t get to the Y. (I did not exercise every day before, when I could go to the Y, so I’m not sure why it suddenly became so important.)
— Go to bed every night by 9 and wake up at 5:30.
— Teach my daughter how to play Satie’s Trois Gymnopédies on piano
— Play my uke more and practice composing more songs
— Send out a hundred book proposals and query letters
— Maybe try to get a job-job, because Mike left his corporate gig to devote his working life to dealing with climate change, and the bottom is falling out of the economy, and holy biscuits, the illusion of control and stability would be nice right now.

Here is a short list of things I’ve done this first week:
— made a Excel spreadsheet schedule of our daily routine (~29% follow rate)
— lamented how bad we are at following the schedule and my sub-par Mom Skills.
— ordered a $30 online course to teach myself how to do a handstand in 30 days (?)
— watched a totally kickass documentary
— spent almost an entire morning practice talking to Jesus and asking him to “help me make the most of this time.”
